Palliative Care

Dr. Nadia Tremonti

Our palliative care team is led by Dr. Nadia Tremonti. Residents have the opportunity to care for palliative patients and also rotate with Dr. Tremonti on her service. If you would like to learn more about Dr. Tremonti and her work click the button below for the documentary she was a part of!

Child Protective Team

Dr. Bradley Norat

Our Child Protective Team is led by Dr. Bradley Norat.

Our residents have the opportunity to rotate with our child protective team who follow children for child abuse and neglect. 

Transplant Program

We are certified Gift of Life center

Our residents will take care of patients during the pre, peri, and post-operative transplant period. Transplants done include heart, kidney, liver, and bone marrow.

Certified Level 1 Trauma and Verified Burn Center

CHM is the ONLY verified burn center in Michigan.

Our residents will care for burn patients in the trauma bay and work closely with the burn team during a patients admission in the ICU, floor, and rehab stay.

Our residents will work closely with the fellows and faculty members in each division. They also have a multitude of opportunities to participate in research and explore various areas of the fields. Many of our fellowships and departments are nationally ranked. 

Global and Urban Health Certificate Program

Global & Urban Health Equity Program via Wayne State is available for residents to enroll in for free!

Our residents are able to enroll in the 2 year certificate program offered via Wayne State University.

Fetal Care Center

Fetal Care Center at DMC Children’s Hospital of Michigan provides a comprehensive fetal care program for prenatal diagnosis of congenital anomalies to prepare for timely and successful postnatal treatment. 

Residents will be involved in the care of these patients prenatally, during delivery, and postnatally.

PANDA-One Critical Care Transport Team

When pediatric patients need emergency transport, DMC Children’s Hospital of Michigan’s PANDA One (Pediatric and Neonatal Dedicated Ambulance) is Michigan’s only dedicated pediatric and neonatal ambulance service and team. 
 

Our Clinical Training Sites

Our residents rotate through 3 clinical sites: the main hospital for inpatient, get outpatient experience in our specialty center, and attend deliveries on the Newborn service at Hutzel Women’s Hospital.

Children's Hospital of Michigan Main Hospital

228 Inpatient Beds with over 10,000 admissions yearly!

Level 4 NICU with 37 single, private rooms, and 2 double rooms, 2 dedicated ECMO beds, and NeuroNICU

PICU with 48 single, private rooms and dedicated CVICU

ED with 52 rooms, 4 trauma bays, and dedicated pod for patients awaiting inpatient psychiatry placement. 

14 bed inpatient rehab unit, 6 bed Bone Marrow Transplant unit, and certified burn center.

Children's Hospital of Michigan Specialty Center

Located directly across the street from the main hospital. Home to our General Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine clinic, which our residents rotate through. Also, the location of outpatient clinics for our subspecialties. 

Hutzel Women's Hospital
