Pediatricians Empowering and Advocating for Community Health (PEACH)
Our resident-run community service group is known as PEACH. They organize and host various volunteer and advocacy events including working with local free clinics, homeless shelters, and schools. They also have a partnership with Brilliant Detroit for a monthly talk with families regarding child and adolescent health.
State Advocacy Day
Residents are able to visit the Michigan state capital and meet with local legislators to advocate for various child health initiatives including those related to gun violence, mental health, and much more!
Other Opportunities for Advocacy & Outreach
Through our community rotation residents are able to volunteer with various community organizations and immerse themselves in the Detroit community!
Residents will also spend time at the Corktown Health Center, which specializes in care for the LGBTQA+ community and learn more about Adverse Childhood Event’s via our ACEs curriculum.
